You have made some interesting comments in your connections. I think the biggest difference between this poem and the others we looked at is that it is very patriotic and sentimental - meaning it is not very realistic of what actually goes on in war and especially what soldiers experience in the field of war. So in that sense it was very different from the poems we had looked at.
